New members are vital to an organisation like ours. Don't be put off if you have not sung in a choir before. Choral experience is not necessary, nor is the ability to speak Welsh or read music, as we employ learning techniques that cope with all levels of ability and experience. All that we ask is that you have a love of, and an ear for music. Age is no barrier and we are pleased to welcome young and not so young choristers.
Singing in the choir, whether in a small local chapel or on the larger stage and on occasion combining with other choirs and soloists, is an unforgettable experience.
What’s involved in singing with the Orpheus?
Choristers:
Music copies are provided free of charge as is stage dress. Travel to away engagements is also provided free and tours are subsidised by choir funds We usually have an ‘Afterglow’ in a local hostelry after a concert where the singing continues and friendships are further cemented.

Anyone wishing to share the Orpheus experience is welcome to drop in at one of our rehearsals at:
Bethel Chapel, Ponciau, Rhoslannerchrugog, Wrexham LL14 1EY on Mondays & Wednesdays 7.30 – 9.15p.m. You will be assured of a very warm welcome.

What’s involved in singing with the Orpheus?
Choristers:
- Attend twice weekly rehearsals at Bethel Chapel, Ponciau, Rhosllannerchrugog LL14 1EY on Mondays (7.30 – 9.15 p.m.) and Wednesdays (7.30 – 9.15 p.m.).
- Perform at concerts and other engagements per year both in the UK and abroad, which average around 20 – 24 per year.
- Have a brief voice assessment so that the Musical Director can place you in the appropriate section of the choir.
